Over the last month I have done some thinking about the direction of this blog and how I want it to evolve over the coming months. This blog came about because I wanted to document my journey in building an affiliate marketing business and put content out there, that others may find useful, as I did it..
Then Cornavirus hit – I got more and more engrossed in learning “how to write the perfect blog post” , researching keywords and improving SEO. To be honest I forgot the importance of actually enjoying the process of writing.
So today I have made a decision. I am going to bring a bit more balance to this process because as with everything connected to affiliate marketing it’s all about getting the balance right!
Sure there are articles that I will research and optimise the heck out of but in the main, I am just going to write what I feel like writing and I’m going to love doing it! Because consistency is a lot easier to achieve when you have passion for the task you are working on!
Affiliate marketing can be a real roller coaster of a journey. Sometimes everything works perfectly and you feel on top of the world. Some days it feels like you’re stuck in the mud, you just want to bash your head against a brick wall!
We often sanitise our content so much in the pursuit of google rankings that we take away some of the things that make the journey and the struggle real! As well as the successes that make it all worthwhile and make life that much sweeter in the end!
Do you know today I got a sale? It came from the link of a blog post written a few weeks ago. That blog post wasn’t the best post I have ever written, it wasn’t going to win any literary awards. It was a little piece of me talking to someone who found a quick few minutes to read it.
It’s really important that you don’t get all hung up on the technicalities of writing. My spelling isn’t perfect and my grammar is shocking! But I write things that I think will help people to succeed. Things that I have experienced as I travel along my path to success.
Life is far to short to worry about a few mistakes. I am not looking to produce perfect pieces of literature, I am just trying to put things out there that people will trip across in the hope that it will stimulate or inspire them to build their own little online empire.
The most important lesson I have learned so far is that consistency is key. If you keep going and keep at it you will start to gain momentum. Even imperfect action will get you the results you want. Just make a plan and stick to it for any length of time.
Don’t be your own worst enemy. Find something you love and do it over and over again until. Do it until you make it work. Make it something to look forward to rather than just another job!
We are freedom seekers, fun finders, opportunity graspers! We are not supposed to drown in chores of our own creating!
However you chose to “get yourself out there” and communicate, inject some fun into it. Then take some action and get to it!
I have been very fortunate to build an online income over the past few years, if this is something you’d like to do too you can see here exactly how I make money from this blog.
